A few years ago, Chase killed a pretty good bull right at dusk in the bottom of a deep New Mexico canyon. Getting it out of that canyon tested our bodies and our friendship. When the four of us finally got the carcass to the road, this scene unfurled. A dead body was lying on the ground next to a heavy pack full of elk meat. It was beautiful.
